Berry College Athletics Director, Todd Brooks, announced that head men’s basketball coach, Jeff Rogers, has resigned his position effective April 30th.
“I greatly appreciate the time and effort that Coach Rogers has dedicated to our men’s basketball program over the past five years,” Brooks said. “I wish him nothing but the best in his next endeavor.”
Rogers has served as the head coach of the Vikings since April of 2013 where he has coached 13 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) All-Conference selections and 16 SAA Academic Honor Roll Honorees during his tenure. This year, the Vikings earned the program’s first SAA Championship as the league’s No. 8-seed and a berth to the NCAA Division III tournament, finishing the year with an 11-18 record.
“I am extremely proud of the young men that I have been fortunate to coach and the way they represented Berry College in the program’s first ever SAA conference championship and appearance in the NCAA tournament,” Rogers said. “More importantly I am proud of their character and who they are as young men.”
A native of Louisville, Ky., Rogers earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University in 1989 and a master’s degree from the University of Louisville in 1996.
A national search to fill the position will begin immediately.
