Rumors from the DirtKing…

Here are a few things that I have heard while on the phone over the past few days…

Mount St. Mary’s is close to hiring Mike Farrelly as an assistant coach. Farrelly has been the director of the HoopGroup Elite for the past few years and played collegiately at St. Joe’s.

Former Holy Cross assistant Guillermo Sanchez has landed a spot with New Heigts AAU (NYC) as the Summer Academy Athletic Director. Sanchez is a NYC native and was let go from Holy Cross when Sean Kearney was fired. New Heights is a great organization that really helps kids in the Washington Heights area. Former Providence graduate assistant Andrew Papaefthemiou has taken over as the head coach at Lee Academy in Maine.

I mentioned earlier in the week that former Penn head coach Glen Miller was involved with an assistant spot with his pal Howie Dickenman at Central Connecticut. It now also appears that he is in the mix for the director of basketball administration spot at UConn. Miller was on Coach Calhoun’s staff from 1986-1993.
