Carlos Sample has been named as the head basketball coach at Baton Rouge Community College. The school released the following on Instagram earlier this morning:

Sample had spent the past sixteen seasons as the head boys basketball coach at Scotlandville Magnet High School in Baton Rouge. During his tenure, he won eight state championships and went to 14 straight state finals, winning 482 games at the school.

Sample will replace Byron Starks who became the Director or Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture for the City of Lafayette, LA earlier this spring. Starks had spent the last three years at BRCC where he went 48-28.
