Averett University men’s basketball head coach David Doino announced the addition of Chris Sause as an assistant coach with the program on Friday.
Sause was a four-year member of the basketball team at N.C. Wesleyan College, where he was a team captain for three years. Additionally, he was a two-time recipient of the Moe Bauer Sportsmanship Award in both his junior and senior year.
Sause has worked a total of 16 camps as a staff member from 2016-19 during the summers. He also worked as a scout and social media reporter for the Phenom Hoop Report for a over a year. While at N.C. Wesleyan, he was an intern and administrative assistant for the basketball team from his freshman to senior year.
A native of Durham, North Carolina, Sause graduated from N.C. Wesleyan in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and organizational administration. He is pursuing his master of business administration from Averett.
