Schlagel to Retire at End of Season

After a 40-year association with the St. Cloud State University men’s basketball program, head coach Kevin Schlagel announced today that he will retire following the end of the 2013-14 season.

Schlagel, a Rush City, Minn., native, landed on the St. Cloud State campus in 1972 and played

four seasons for Noel Olson. He became the program’s top assistant coach in 1980 and spent 18 seasons with three different coaches before being named the head coach for the 1997-98 season.
