Seidenburg named Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Wilson College

Wilson College Director of Athletics Tina Hill has announced the hiring of Mark Seidenburg to serve as the head coach of the men’s basketball program. Seidenburg comes to Wilson after a successful stint as the head coach at Delaware Valley University.

“Coach Seidenburg will hit the ground running and we could not be more excited to welcome him back to Wilson,” said Hill. “He brings with him a passionate and contagious commitment to player development, not only on the court, but in the classroom and in their lives. There is no doubt that our program is going to continue to thrive under Coach Seidenburg’s leadership.”

Seidenburg brings a tremendous amount of experience to Wilson. During his tenure as the head coach at Delaware Valley, the Aggies made the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom playoffs twice and in his first season the team had a record-tying 11 wins in conference play and earned the league regular season title. He was named the MAC Freedom Coach of the Year in 2017. His teams have also achieved an NCAA Atlantic Regional Ranking, five All-MAC selections, a program record for single semester team G.P.A., and twenty All-MAC Academic Honor Roll recipients.

Seidenburg will be returning to Wilson where he attended as an adult learner through the Teacher Intern Program from 2009-2012. “It was at Wilson College where I found my passion for teaching and achieved my greatest level of academic success,” said Seidenburg. “That opened the door for me to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a head NCAA DIII basketball coach.”

Prior to Delaware Valley, Seidenburg served as the associate head coach and junior varsity head coach at Messiah College for four seasons. The Falcons went 51-28 over those four campaigns, including a memorable 19-win season in 2013-14.

Prior to Messiah, Seidenburg was an assistant coach and recruitment coordinator for Penn State Harrisburg for the 2010-11 and 2011-12 campaigns. The Lions went 26-6 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play over the two years and they captured the conference title in 2011.

“My wife Misty and I, along with our three children, are looking forward to joining the Wilson College community,” said Seidenburg. “I’m extremely excited to start working with our current team and to begin our chase of Wilson College men’s basketball’s first CSAC championship. Being a former student at Wilson College, I truly look forward to making a return to Chambersburg.”
