Andy Sharpe has been introduced as the new men’s basketball coach at Southern Arkansas. He has served the past five years as head coach at NAIA-affiliated Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tenn.
Sharpe brings eight years of coaching experience to the Muleriders, seven as a head coach in which he has compiled a career mark of 168-70 for a .706 win percentage.
Prior to arriving at Martin Methodist, Sharpe began his collegiate coaching career in 2004-05 as an assistant at Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Ga., before taking over the program the following season and serving two years as head coach, compiling a 41-29 (.586) record.
Sharpe will have some familiarity with his future opponents in the Great American Conference, as his cousin, Allen Sharpe, is the second-year men’s coach at Arkansas-Monticello.
