The University of Maine has announced that Jon Sheets, ’07, has been promoted to the men’s basketball staff’s second assistant coaching position. Sheets served on the staff this past season after playing professionally in Israel, participating with Athletes in Action touring team in South America, and coaching at the college level in California.

"Jon has done a terrific job as a member of our staff! He is great with our team workouts, scouting preparation, and in all aspects of basketball. He is a outstanding teacher of the game, is a highly respected coach, and I am very pleased he will be able to significantly increase his role on our staff," said Woodward. Sheets played for Woodward at Maine from 2005-2007, and earned his degree from UMaine in 2007
