Sherman Finalizes Staff at Central Methodist

Central Methodist University head men’s basketball coach Jeff Sherman announced the hiring’s of Matt Dickman and Grant Peterson as graduate assistant coaches in time for the 2015-16 season.

“I am thrilled to have both Matt and Grant join our coaching staff,” said Coach Sherman. “These are two very talented individuals. Both bring a wealth of basketball knowledge and a work ethic that will help better our overall program. I feel very fortunate these two are with us and excited to work with them over the next couple of seasons.”

Matt Dickman enjoyed a very successful NJCAA and NAIA collegiate playing career and recently helped coach a very strong Brown Mackie Community College team this past season. As a graduate assistant with the Eagles, Dickman will also have the duty of being the head coach for the junior varsity team.

“Matt’s connections within the NAIA and community colleges in and around the Arizona area will help broaden our recruiting base,” said Sherman. “I am very excited to have this young, hardworking and focused young man on our staff.  He is already a valuable addition to our program.”

Grant Peterson comes from a very successful NCAA Division I University of Northern Iowa.  He was the lead manager the past four years for this program and just began the graduate assistant program last semester.

“Grant will be responsible for a variety of areas including video breakdowns, fundraising, individual workout schedules, academic monitoring and help oversee both varsity and junior varsity programs,” said Sherman. “He will be very influential with our freshmen mentoring program and has already made a huge impact within the overall structure of our program.
