Lindenwood men’s basketball head coach Kyle Gerdeman announced the addition of Brandon Shingles as assistant coach for the 2023-24 season.
Shingles spent last season as an assistant coach at McNeese State. Prior to his time in Lake Charles, La. Shingles spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Chipola College in Marianna, Florida where he served as the team recruiting coordinator, defensive coordinator, and director of scouting among many other duties.
In both seasons, Chipola was ranked as the nation’s top defense in the JUCO ranks and also helped guide the Indians to back-to-back conference and state championships and two final four appearances in the NJCAA National Tournament. Shingles helped 11 different players advance to the NCAA Division I level, including three who moved on to Power 5 institutions. He coached eight All-Conference players and two NJCAA All-Americans.
As a player, Shingles played his first two years at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) where he led the Stallions to a 27-5 record (best record in school history) and was a first team all-conference selection. He was a two-year starter at Morehead State where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in University Studies. Playing from 2008-10, Shingles ended his career ranked in the top 10 in assists in school history and helped guide his team to the 2009 NCAA Tournament.
Following college, Shingles played nine years professionally overseas where he earned All-League Honorable Mention honors in 2016 as well as being named an all-star in 2010 and 2011.
