Mitch Buonaguro will be the next head coach at Siena according to our sources. A deal will be finalized tomorrow and a press conference is likely for Friday. Buonaguro has been an assistant on Fran McCaffrey’s staff at Siena for the past five seasons. He was the head coach at Fairfield (1985 to 1991) and has been an assistant at Boston College, Villanova, Texas A&M, Cleveland State and UNC-Greensboro. He won a national championship at Villanova in 1985. Other finalists for the job were Northeastern’s Bill Coen and Jacksonville’s Cliff Warren (a former Siena assistant).
