Earlier today, I wrote “I have heard that two small colleges have opened – waiting for confirmation and hope to bring those to you later today (HINT: 1 in NY, 1 in MN)”. Since then, I have confirmed that Bethel (MN) has opened (http://hoopdirt.com/blog/893b051a/daily-dirt-ii-4-18-13/…).

I can now confirm that Vassar College (NY) has opened. According to a great source (which I have now finally confirmed a few weeks after he originally told me), Del Harris is no longer the head coach. In five seasons, Harris compiled a 31-94 record (7-18 this season). I have also heard that there is an interview scheduled for early next week. More on this as I hear it.

Also, I am now hearing of a small college opening in California – yet to be confirmed, but comes from a reliable source. More once I get double (and triple confirmation), but here’s a hint…Cal Pac Conference. I’m also sitting on a New England DIII opening, but I’m betting this one gets filled before it gets posted.
