REPORT: Nevada Smith to be named Head Basketball Coach at Siena

According to a Jon Rothstein report, Marquette assistant Nevada Smith will become the next head coach at Siena.

Smith spent the past four seasons on Shaka Smart’s staff at Marquette and also worked with him for one season at Texas. He brings head coaching experience from the NBA G League, where he led both the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and Sioux Falls Skyforce. Smith has also served as a head coach at the NCAA Division III level, with stops at Keystone and SUNY Canton.

It sounds like former Washington head coach Mike Hopkins and Vermont head coach John Becker both passed on this one.

More on this move once it’s made official.
