Southeastern’s head men’s basketball coach Kelly Green has announced the addition of Ryan Quinn as the program’s new assistant coach.

Quinn replaces Chris McGill who spent three seasons on staff before taking the head coaching position at Murray State College earlier this summer.

"I’m grateful for the opportunity to come work for Southeastern," said Quinn. "I’m looking forward to getting into the gym. My ultimate goal is to help SE win a championship."

"We are really excited about adding Ryan as an assistant coach," said Green. "He has a wide variety of experience with stops at OU, UCO and Seminole State. He will be a positive addition to the men’s basketball program as well as Southeastern athletics as a whole."

"Chris [McGill] did a great job here," said continued Green, "And made my transition easier. He helped us make strides as a program. I expect Ryan [Quinn] to step in and continue helping with the positive progression of men’s basketball here at Southeastern."

He joins the Savage Storm after spending the last two seasons at Seminole State where he started as an assistant coach before taking on an interim head coach title for his second season. In his capacity as head coach, Quinn guided the squad to an improved record from the season before.

Prior to Seminole State he spent two seasons as a graduate assistant for Central Oklahoma, helping those teams win the Lone Star Conference-North division both season, as well as the 2011 postseason tournament. That 2011 squad also advanced to the NCAA tournament before being knocked out in the regional finals.

Quinn got his start as a student assistant at The University of Oklahoma where he served in his student capacity from 2003-08, working under head coaches Kelvin Sampson and Jeff Capel.
