Southeastern University Men’s Basketball Staff Update

Heading into his first season as the head coach of the Southeastern University men’s basketball team, Randy Lee has announced new additions to the coaching staff in Edwin Pellot-Rosa, John Shoffner, and Jordan Gorman.

Pellot-Rosa will be joining the Fire as the assistant coach after spending a year as the assistant coach at Tennessee Temple University where he also served as the facilities manager. During his time with the Crusaders, he assisted a 24-10 overall record and a trip to the NCCAA Tournament.

On top of his role with the Fire, Pellot-Rosa also serves as the head basketball coach of the Cayman Islands National Team, a role he has held since 2014. He also served as the Director of Operations for Eagle Sports Academy in the Cayman Islands and spent time working at the Department of Counseling in the Cayman Islands.

Pellot-Rosa earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lee University and went on to earn his Master of Science in Leadership from Tennessee Temple.

Randy Lee stated, “I am blessed to be able to add Coach Ed Pellot-Rosa & Coach John Shoffner to the program. Ed has chased his dreams and honed his coaching internationally with great success.  On-court, he will be instrumental in our guard development and defense.  Off the court, Ed will be involved in all aspects of the program.”

Shoffner comes to the Fire as a current teacher at Winter Haven High School and instructor at the Basketball Training Academy in Winter Haven.

No stranger to the Sun Conference, Shoffner served as the head coach of Webber International from 2004-2016 and oversaw the junior varsity and varsity teams.
Shoffner earned his bachelor’s in business administration with a concentration in Sports Management from Webber in 2000.

Regarding the addition of Shoffner to the coaching staff, Lee stated, “Coach Shoffner will be valuable to our program with his understanding of the Sun Conference and experience as a head coach. Shoffner will oversee post-player development and will be an asset within our program.”

After earning First Team All-Sun Conference last season, Jordan Gorman will also transition into a coaching role as he joins the staff as an assistant. Last season, Gorman ended with the conference’s top three-point percentage at 46.3% and a season total 74 three-point baskets. Lee stated, “Jordan was a tremendous player during his senior year and he will be a positive impact with our program and assist with guard development.”
