Southwest Baptist coach resigns

Southwest Baptist University Director of Athletics Mike Pitts has announced the resignation of head men’s basketball coach Jeff Guiot.

"I have enjoyed working with Coach Guiot during the past ten years," SBU President Dr. Pat Taylor stated. "He rebuilt our program and brought exciting basketball to SBU. I wish Coach Guiot the best in his future endeavors."

Coach Guiot ended his tenure at Southwest Baptist University with a coaching record of 180-116 (107-82 MIAA). Coach Guiot led the Bearcats to the MIAA Tournament each season while at SBU, while also claiming three MIAA regular season titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances.

"I’m very appreciative of the success that Coach Guiot has brought to our program," SBU Director of Athletics Mike Pitts stated. "The banners hanging from our rafters will serve as a reminder of the great teams he coached. I wish him the best."

"I loved my time at SBU," Jeff Guiot commented. "I have made great friends and many fond memories while at SBU. SBU will always have a special place in my heart. I will miss SBU, but it is time for me to move on in my career."
