The Southwestern Community College athletic department is once again on the hunt for a men’s basketball coach.
The position has been open since Devin Kastrup announced his resignation at the conclusion of the 2020-21 season. Brandon Gossett, most recently an assistant coach at Emporia State University, got the nod to replace Kastrup earlier this month, but has since chosen to resign his position effective immediately citing “personal issues.”
The Southwestern athletic department’s Nick Weinmeister said while due to timing the situation is not ideal, the program will work through the late vacancy and be ready to welcome student-athletes for the fall semester.
Weinmeister said the search for a new coach will begin immediately
