Southwestern University Head Men’s Basketball Coach Bill Raleigh announced the hiring of Janson Hightower as assistant men’s basketball coach.
Hightower comes to Southwestern after serving as a graduate assistant and operations director for the men’s basketball program at the University of Central Arkansas for the past two seasons.
Hightower is no stranger to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference basketball. He was a standout at Hendrix College and was the team captain his senior season. He led the team in assists three seasons and led in steals his senior year and was a member of the teams that advanced to the SCAC Conference Tournament semi-finals in 2008 and 2009.
Hightower was also selected as the Carl Babcock Award Winner, awarded to one Hendrix College male athlete for character and leadership in athletics.
Hightower will officially begin his tenure at Southwestern on August 1.
