Sparks promoted to Head Basketball Coach at The Apprentice School

Tim Sparks has been promoted to the role of Head Men’s Basketball Coach at The Apprentice School after serving two years as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. He replaces former head coach Evan Kee who was recently named as the school’s new Associate Athletic Director of Finance & Facilities. 

Sparks was the Assistant Boy’s Varsity Coach at Lafayette High School in 2016-17.  Before Lafayette, he was the Varsity Boy’s Basketball Head Coach at Princess Anne High School for three years. 

From 2012-14, Sparks served as the Men’s Assistant Coach at Virginia Wesleyan College.  At Wesleyan, he was the lead recruiter and helped oversee the program that went on to win the ODAC championship in 2013.  Before joining the Virginia Wesleyan, Sparks was an Assistant Coach at Louisburg College in 2010-11. 

Sparks has a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Health and Physical Education from Norfolk State.  He also earned his Masters of Education with a concentration in Sports Administration from Castleton State College.
