I have heard that there has been a shake-up in the staff at Cal-Irvine. Apparently assistant coach Amadou "Pape" Koundoul has resigned. I heard that he had to quit to help with an African HS player who he helped bring to the States. The player had a medical emergency, and it would have been an NCAA violation for Koundoul to help out. To replace Koundoul, first-year head coach Russell Turner elevated DBO Ryan Badrtalei to assistant coach. He also bumped up Nick Booker from video coordinator to DBO, and David Lee from volunteer assistant to video coordinator.
