I can confirm that Stanford will hire University of Denver associate head coach Brandon Dunson as an assistant coach. Dunson had previously served as the Director of Basketball Operations for the Cardinal (2016-18).
Last season was Dunson’s first as the associate head coach at Denver, where he worked for former Stanford assistant (and first-year DU head coach) Jeff Wilbrun. The pair helped revitalize the Pioneers program, as the team reached double digit wins (11) for the first time since 2017-18, and their seven Summit League victories matched the total of the previous three seasons combined.
Before joining the Denver staff, Dunson spent two seasons as an assistant at Cal State Fullerton (2019-21), and one season as an assistant at Nevada (2018-19).
An official announcement on this move is expected shortly.
