Wayne State College head men’s basketball coach Jeff Kaminsky has announced the addition of Sean Stokes as an assistant coach for the 2025-26 season. Stokes began his duties as assistant men’s basketball coach at Wayne State College.
“Sean is a great addition to our coaching staff,” remarked Kaminsky. “He has been a talented and highly cerebral player in our program the past five seasons and there is no doubt that he will transition into a highly successful member of our staff.”
Kaminsky added, “Sean is familiar with and understands the type of player who will fit our team culture and has the ability to succeed at the upper level of the NSIC. He will be a tremendous asset in facilitating the overall development of the players we have in our program on and off the court.”
Stokes just completed a five-year playing career with the Wildcats. He started all 28 games last season as a senior averaging 6.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per contest. Stokes ranked seventh in the NSIC in steals per game (1.7) and set a new WSC single game school record while tying an NSIC single game record with 10 steals to go with 14 points vs. Minnesota State December 6th. He appeared in 94 games during his time in a Wildcat uniform with 45 starts.
Wayne State finished the 2024-25 season with a record of 16-13 overall and finished 10th in the NSIC with a 10-12 league mark. It was the fifth straight winning season for Wildcat men’s basketball.
