Pat Sullivan, entering his sixth season with the Wabash College basketball program, has been elevated to associate head coach beginning immediately.

“I am extremely proud to have had Pat as my assistant for the past ten years,” Wabash head basketball coach Kyle Brumett said. “Our success at both Defiance College and here at Wabash College has been very rewarding. We have had very good players, and more importantly, great young men. Coach ‘Sully’ has been an integral part in building these successful programs. He truly is the associate head coach and has his fingerprints on everything we do. As we prepare for what hopes to be a very exciting season in 2019-2020, I wanted him to be recognized for all of the great contributions that he is making to both Wabash basketball and to the College as a whole.”

Sullivan has served as an assistant coach in the Wabash program for the past five season, helping the Little Giants to 75 victories and five North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament appearances, including a 21-6 record last year with a 14-4 NCAC mark. Wabash won 20 games for the first time since the 2010-2011 season. Nine Wabash players have earned All-NCAC honors over the past five seasons during Sullivan’s time on the coaching staff with current Wabash players Colten Garland and Jack Davidson both earning Newcomer of the Year honors. Davidson was selected the league’s Player of the Year last season.

“I would like to thank Coach Brumett and Wabash Athletics Director Matt Tanney for naming me associate head coach,” Sullivan said. “Wabash is a special place and working here these past five years has truly been a great experience. I am really excited about what we have been able to build and how we can continue to grow the program going forward.

“Being able to work alongside one of the best coaches in the country the last ten years has taught me a great deal. I am forever grateful to Coach ‘Brum’ for all that he has done for me and look forward to continuing our work together.”

Prior to Wabash Sullivan spent five seasons as an assistant under Brumett at Defiance as the recruiting coordinator, director of scouting, and assistant director of summer camps.

Sullivan played basketball and soccer at Denison University where he graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and economics. He earned a Masters of Education from Defiance in 2011.
