I have heard from multiple sources that Alabama State has offered their head men’s basketball coach job to Iowa State assistant William Small. It sounds like the offer on the table was low (less that half of the reported $265,000/yr that Small is making at Iowa State), and the sides are working to negotiate a deal.
Small has been on Steve Prohm’s staff for the past five seasons, after following him from Murray State. The Mississippi native has also been an assistant at UTEP, Western Kentucky, Southeastern Louisiana, UT-Martin, Troy, Tulane, and Georgia State. He would replace Lewis Jackson, who resigned after 15 seasons at ASU back on March 27th.
More on this one as it develops.
