New Temple head basketball coach Adam Fisher has announced three additions to his staff. Chris Clark and Bobby Jordan have been named as assistant coaches, and Jimmy Polisi has been added as the director of basketball operations. They join Michael Huger, who was announced as the associate head coach last week.
Chris Clark, who has served as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Temple University since 2016, will return for an eighth season as a member of Adam Fisher’s staff. Clark is the second assistant coach named to Fisher’s staff, joining associate head coach Michael Huger.
“I have known Chris a long time. He is a tremendous person and coach, who has played and coached here. He loves Temple and I am so happy he will be a part of our staff,” said Fisher. “He is also so great with people and when I was looking at who I wanted to have on my staff I kept coming back to Chris Clark. His family values align with mine. Our players love him, and I need his energy and passion on our staff. I am so glad to have Chris, Sharena, Caysen, Chase, CrisMonae and Camorie be a part of the Temple family.”
“I am so grateful to remain a part of Temple Basketball as a member of Coach Fisher’s staff,” said Clark. “I know Adam and share his vision for Temple Basketball. I look forward to working with him and the rest of our staff to return the program to postseason success.”
A 2008 Temple grad where he played under both legendary Hall of Fame Temple coach John Chaney and Dunphy, Clark has been on the Owls’ staff a total of eight seasons, one as the video coordinator during the 2015-16 season and the previous seven as an assistant coach on Dunphy’s (2016-19) and Aaron McKie‘s staffs (2019-23).
During his six seasons as an Owl assistant, Clark has been one of the team’s top recruiters. Among the top players he has recruited to Temple are all-AAC honoree Damian Dunn, and all-AAC freshman honorees Jahlil White and Zach Hicks and current starting point guard Hysier Miller.
Prior to his return to Temple, Clark served two seasons as assistant head coach at Campbell University. He spent two seasons at Campbell (2013-15) as well as four seasons (2009-13) as an assistant coach at St. Francis (Pa.). At St. Francis, he helped lead the program to program to two consecutive Northeast Conference tournament appearances. He also served as the program’s associate head coach his final season.
A four-year member of the Owls (2004-08) as a player, Clark had a breakout senior season while serving as team captain. The Philadelphia native (St. Joseph’s Prep HS) led the Owls in three-point percentage (57-137, .416) and helped lead Temple to a 21-13 record and the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship as the team’s sixth man. Named the 2008 Philadelphia Big 5 Most Improved Player, he increased his scoring average from 2.6 points per game as a junior to 7.5 points per game as a senior.
Clark also has an extensive resume of community service. He has been a Big Brother Program volunteer, a Reading for Children volunteer, and has done community service at the Carousel House in Philadelphia. Additionally, he has volunteered with Midtown Parish United Methodist Church, Temple Rollin Owls Basketball League, and Cherry Hill’s Martin Luther King Day.
He and his wife, Sharena, have three sons, Caysen, Chase, Camorie, and a daughter CrisMonae.
Bobby Jordan, who has spent the last seven years as an assistant coach at the NCAA Division I level, will join head coach Adam Fisher as an assistant coach on the Temple men’s basketball staff.
“I am so happy to welcome Bobby Jordan to our men’s basketball staff,” said Fisher. “Bobby is a tireless recruiter and a great basketball mind. He is also a tremendous family man, who has strong roots in Philadelphia. I am so happy to welcome him, his wife Kate and their daughters Mackenzie and Madison to the Temple Basketball family.”
“I am so excited to join Coach Fisher on his Temple Basketball staff,” said Jordan. “It is great being back in the city of Philadelphia where I started my collegiate basketball career. This is an exciting time for Temple, and I am looking forward to working with Adam and the rest of the staff to bring our Owls back to postseason success.”
As an assistant coach at Albany, Jordan posted a 2-2 record as the acting head coach for the Great Danes over the first four games in the 2022-23 season.
Prior to his one year at Albany, Jordan spent three seasons at Wagner (2019-22), helping lead the Seahawks from an eight-win season his first year to a 13-7 mark and the Northeast Conference regular season championship (13-5) in year two. His final year at Wagner, he helped lead the Seahawks to a 21-6 mark (15-3 NEC), including a 16-game win streak, the longest in the nation at the time. That season Wagner had four players, including NEC Player of the Year Alex Morales, selected to the NEC All Conference teams, the first time in program history.
A 2009 Drexel alum, Jordan began his coaching career with the Dragons. He served two seasons as an operations assistant for the program before joining Bruiser Flint’s staff as an assistant coach for three seasons (2012-15). He was a major influence in the development of guards Damion Lee, Terrell Allen, Frantz Massenat, and Chris Fouch. Lee currently is a member of the Phoenix Suns and was a 1st Team All CAA pick. Allen went on to earn All Rookie honors. Massenat was a First Team All-CAA pick and CAA All Rookie pick, while Fouch was a three-time All-CAA selection as well as the CAA Rookie of the Year.
Jordan also worked at the prestigious IMG Academy as head basketball coach. He led the Ascenders to a 26-4 record and saw five players sign with Division 1 schools, along with five others signing on to play college basketball.
Prior to IMG, Jordan served as head coach at Philadelphia area prep school Girard College. He guided the Cavaliers to a 23-6 record and a state playoff appearance. The Cavaliers were considered one of the top teams in Pennsylvania’s Class 1A throughout the season. Three of Jordan’s players went on to earn Division 1 scholarships.
Jordan graduated Drexel in 2009 with a degree in Sport Management. He and his wife Kate have two daughters Mackenzie and Madison.
Jimmy Polisi, a former Temple University head men’s basketball manager, has returned to the nest and will serve as the Director of Men’s Basketball Operations announced Owls’ head coach Adam Fisher.
“We are so happy to bring Jimmy Polisi back to Temple as our Director of Operations,” said Fisher. “Jimmy truly knows the operations of our basketball program, having served four years as a student manager, including head manager as a junior and senior. I had the pleasure of working with Jimmy during my time at the University of Miami and witnessed his incredible work ethic and dedication to the program firsthand. His behind-the-scenes work helped Hall of Fame coach Jim Larrañaga’s program advance to the Elite Eight and the Final Four. I am really excited to have him return to run the operations of our program.”
“I want to thank Coach Fisher for this tremendous opportunity to oversee the basketball operations at my alma mater,” said Polisi. “I learned a lot in my time here as a basketball manager while my time at Miami allowed me to gain the necessary experience to oversee the operations of a program. I am very fortunate to be able to come full circle and return to my roots as an Owl.”
During his time as an undergraduate at Temple (2016-20), Polisi served as a manager for all four years, including as the head manager for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 campaigns. His responsibilities included recording statistics in practices, preparing game film, rebounding for players, organizing equipment, and coordinating laundry.
After his time as a manager at Temple, Polisi served two seasons as a graduate assistant with the Hurricanes. The Philadelphia native helped Miami with operations tasks, film coding and equipment management, while handling all food ordering for the program. In addition, Polisi served as a liaison to the ticket office and assisted in facilitating recruiting visits.
Last season, he was elevated to the newly-created operations specialist position at Miami, serving in a full-time position on Larrañaga’ s staff. The Hurricanes finished the 2022-23 season with a 29-8 record, advancing to the NCAA Final Four before falling to eventual NCAA Champion UConn, 72-59, in the National Semifinals.
Before joining the Hurricanes, Polisi worked as a basketball operations assistant for the Philadelphia 76ers from October 2019 to May 2020. His duties included assisting players’ families during games and organizing events for them, as well as player ticket distribution.
From February 2018 to October 2019, Polisi was an equipment staff member and ball boy for the 76ers. The role included locker room preparation, rebounding for players pregame and loading visiting teams’ equipment trucks postgame.
Polisi earned his undergraduate degree in sport and recreation management from Temple in 2020. He added a master’s degree in liberal studies from Miami in May 2022.
