I have heard from a great source that the leader for the vacant assistant spot at Tennessee Tech is former Georgia and Marshall head coach Ron Jirsa. The spot opened up last month when TTU assistant Brian Kloman left for a spot on Pat Kelsey’s staff at Winthrop. In addition to his time as a head coach, Jirsa spent 12 seasons as an assistant to Tubby Smith. They worked together at Tulsa, Georgia, and Minnesota. Jirsa has also been an assistant at Dayton, Delaware, and VCU. More on this one as I hear it.
