I’ve heard a few things over the past day or so on the Texas Tech front. The successor to Pat Knight will definitely not be Nebraska head coach Doc Sadler. He was rumored to have interest at the begining of the week, but came out last night and said that he won’t pursue the job. He was an assistant at TTU from 1991-94. Another name that’s created a "buzz" is Marquette head coach Buzz Williams. He has a great job right now at MU in the best conference in the country, but he is from a small town in Texas (Van Alstyne) and it sounds like he may be interested in returning home. The other name creating a stir is Abeline, TX native and former Kentucky head coach Billy Gillispie. BCG has been the head coach at Texas-El Paso and Texas A&M and had success at both stops. He has also been a HS coach in the state, and also an assistant at Baylor, Texas State, and South Plains. It sounds like he is the front runner for now, unless Buzz tries to push hard for this one.
