Thomas College head men’s basketball coach Geoff Hensley has announced the hiring of Tim Goodearle as assistant coach for the upcoming 2014-15 season.
Goodearle comes to Thomas College after serving as an assistant coach at New England College for one season under head coach Charlie Mason, where helped improve the Pilgrim’s program by more than doubling the amount of wins from the previous season. At New England College, Goodearle assisted with scouting, practice, and on-court coaching.
Hensley commented, "Today is a big day for the Thomas men’s basketball team. We take a huge step in the right direction by welcoming Tim to our coaching staff. Tim’s combination of energy and passion for the game of basketball impressed everyone involved with the selection process. Thomas College is doing big things, and having Tim join our sidelines is a great addition to the college community and our program."
Prior to New England College, Goodearle coached at the high school level at North High School in North St. Paul, Minnesota and Kewaskum High School in Kewaskum, Wisconsin. Goodearle also has experience in strength and conditioning as he spent two years as a Personal Trainer with the YMCA.
Goodearle played for the University of Wisconsin-Washington County and helped the team to a program-best record of 19-7 and a trip to the WCC State Tournament in 2008-09.
The West Bend, Wisconsin native earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Business Administration from UW-Milwaukee in December of 2010.
