Adrian College Athletic Director Michael Duffy announced the hiring of Tim Kaiser as head men’s basketball coach of the Adrian College program. Kaiser served as assistant coach and acting head coach during the 2020-21 season for the Bulldogs.
“I’m very excited and grateful to be able to lead such an amazing group of young men,” said Kaiser. “Adrian College is an amazing institution and I am truly humbled to be given this opportunity. I cannot wait to see what the young men in this program accomplish on and off the basketball court.”
Kaiser was a 2017 graduate of Waynesburg University where he was a four-year member of the men’s basketball team. At Waynesburg, Kaiser served as team captain and led the team in assists, minutes played, and free throw percentage.
After Waynesburg, Kaiser spent two seasons as the graduate assistant basketball coach for Heidelberg University. At Heidelberg he assisted the team in two trips to the OAC Tournament and helped defeat five teams that ranked in the top-25. After Heidelberg he spent a season as an assistant coach at Muhlenberg College. Tim was part of the coaching staff that led Muhlenberg to its most wins since 2002, most conference wins since the 2013-14 season, and the best start since the 1964-65 season.
“We are excited to announce Tim Kaiser has our new head coach,” said Athletic Director Michael Duffy. “Tim stepped up halfway through the season and proved he was able to handle the responsibilities of a head coach. Tim’s young energy will fit well with the group of young men we have on our men’s basketball team.”
Kaiser arrived at Adrian before the 2020-21 school year and started the season as the team’s assistant coach. Later in the year he moved into the role of acting head coach where he recorded a win in his first game.
“I would like to thank, Coach Duffy, President Docking, Vice President Hribar, and the rest of the search committee for believing in me and trusting me with this opportunity,” Kaiser said. “I’d also like to thank Coach Mark Christner, Coach Andy Bucheit, and Coach Kevin Hopkins for all of their guidance over the last nine years of my life. Lastly, I’d like to thank my family for their constant encouragement and support, I wouldn’t be anywhere without them.”
Kaiser will begin his position as head coach of the Adrian College men’s basketball team effective immediately.
