Tom Kiely has been named Director of basketball Operations for the Institute.

He comes to VMI from Seton Hall University where he served as a student manager for the men’s basketball team for four years. Among his many responsibilities were to order and execute team meals, create and develop recruiting mail, film practice and games for breakdown and plan practice logistics. Tom was a member of the men’s basketball staff for the 2016 Big East Tournament championship team.

Over this period the Averill Park, New York, native traveled with the team helping to coordinate meals and practice in addition to using Synergy SportsTech to chart statistics and other metrics. He also oversaw a group of 15 student managers to assist in practice and individual workouts.
