HoopDirt.com can confirm that Towson head coach Pat Skerry will hire University of Southern California Director of Basketball Operations Pat O’Connell as an assistant coach. He will replace Bruce Shingler who departed earlier this spring for a spot on Frank Martin’s staff at South Carolina.

O’Connell is a Baltimore native who had previously spent three seasons on Skerry’s staff at Towson as the Director of Student-Athlete Development. The former standout at Johns Hopkins also spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Florida State.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
