According to a report in the Tennessean, Trevecca Nazarene men’s basketball coach Sam Harris has been suspended for tomorrow’s season opener vs. Mount Vernon Nazarene. The suspension comes after the university self-reported an unspecified rules violation. Harris has also been forced to sit out one practice as part of the punishment.
AD Mark Elliott said; “We take NCAA compliance seriously and once we were made aware of potential violations, we self-reported the infractions. The infractions were administrative in nature and considered secondary, level three violations, but it is important to report and respond.”
No further action will be taken after the suspension.
Assistant coaches Ryan Sharpe and Mike Petrone will fill in for Harris on Saturday.
