Johns Hopkins men’s basketball coach Josh Loeffler announced the addition of Trevor Johnson to the Blue Jay coaching staff today. Johnson comes to Hopkins from Nebraska Wesleyan, where he spent the last four seasons on the Wolves coaching staff.

A 2014 graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan, Johnson joined the coaching staff after his standout four-year career. He helped the Wolves to an 83-32 (.722) record and the 2018 NCAA Championship during his tenure on the bench. He assisted head coach Dale Wellman in all aspects of the program, including recruiting, scouting, strength and conditioning and player development. While on the coaching staff, he helped the Wolves lead NAIA Division II in scoring offense and three-point field goals in 2014-15 (92.5 ppg / 12.1 3fgm) and 2015-16 (96.3 ppg / 14.2 3fgm).

On the court, Johnson was a four-year starter and 1,000-point scorer for Nebraska Wesleyan. As a senior, he earned Honorable Mention All-America honors, was a finalist for the prestigious Jostens Trophy and won an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. He was also a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American as well as a three-time All-Great Plains Athletic Conference selection. Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Nebraska Wesleyan and received his master’s in management from Doane University in 2017.
