Trevor Woodruff has resigned as head men’s basketball and golf coach at Misericordia University and has been named head women’s basketball coach at the University of Scranton.

“I want to thank Trevor for his outstanding contributions to Misericordia basketball, the overall athletic program, and the University,” said Chuck Edkins, director of athletics at Misericordia. “He has given of himself to Misericordia as both a student-athlete and professional. That is a true testament to his belief and passion for MU. We understand that this decision was difficult for him, but in the best interest of him and his family.”

Woodruff spent 11 seasons as head coach at his alma mater and was a two-time MAC Freedom Conference Coach of the Year.

His teams won two MAC Freedom Conference championships while compiling a 169-142 record.

During his playing days at Misericordia, Woodruff served as team captain as a senior. He was an All-Pennsylvania Athletic Conference selection and led the Cougars to the 1999 PAC title game. He was also a PAC All-Academic selection as a senior.
