Kenny Tripp has been named Washington State men’s basketball’s assistant coordinator of operations, head coach Ernie Kent announced Thursday.

“Kenny is a very hard worker with a vast knowledge of the game and variety of experience for someone his age,” Kent said. “He will be a great addition to our program and I’m excited to have him on staff.”

Tripp joins the Cougars after one year as an assistant coach for Division II Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2017-18. At Metro State, Tripp assisted in all areas of the program, including the organization of team travel, academics, the recruitment of potential student-athletes, and working on the court to develop the team’s post-players.

Prior to his stint with the Roadrunners, Tripp served as a graduate assistant for the men’s basketball program at Division II Regis University at Denver, Colo., for two years (2015-17).

His graduate assistantship followed four years as a student manager at the University of Nevada. During his time at Nevada, the Wolf Pack won the Western Athletic Conference regular season championship and made a postseason appearance in the NIT in 2012.

A native of Sacramento, Calif., Tripp earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Nevada in 2015, and in 2017 earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in strategic management from Regis.
