Green Mountain College Head Basketball Coach Daryle Tucker has resigned after three years at the helm of the Eagles as announced by Director of Athletics Keith Bosley on Monday afternoon.
"Daryle has been an important member of the Green Mountain athletic family since he arrived in July of 2010," said Bosley. "He has been an integral part of the growth and development of the men’s basketball team and has helped guide the department through his administrative duties as the Assistant Athletic Director. We appreciate all that he has done for the program and the department and wish him the very best in his future."
Coach Tucker began his career as a head coach starting in the 2011-12 season and has left his signature on the program through his great recruiting efforts. Over his three-year career, he has brought to the campus over 20 new student-athletes from all over the United States and the world. Several of his players have been recognized by the North Atlantic Conference with Rookie and Player of the Week honors. This past season, Tucker helped produce Green Mountain’s first NAC Rookie of the Year, Javier Lugris, since the College entered the conference in 2008.
Beginning this fall, Tucker will head to a Northland College in Wisconsin where he will take over as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach.
"I am grateful to the Green Mountain College administration for giving me the opportunity and supporting me as I began my head coaching and administrative career nearly four years ago," said Tucker. "The experience I have gained during my tenure at the College has been crucial to my development as both a head coach and an administrator. I am glad to have been a part of the building process here and I believe that the men’s basketball program is ready to take that next step towards success within the conference."
A national search for Tucker’s replacement will begin immediately.
