Ty Conyers Named Video Coordinator at UAlbany

Ty Conyers has returned to the UAlbany men’s basketball team to serve as the video coordinator for the 2017-18 season.

“I am excited to welcome Ty back to our program,” said UAlbany head coach Will Brown. “He was a four-year manager for us so he understands how we operate as a program. This position is an important one as we place a strong emphasis on our preparation and scouting in which our video coordinator plays an integral role. Ty has gained valuable experience the past few years working for the CUNY Athletic Conference and Queens College. I am confident Ty will be a tremendous asset to our program.”

Conyers, who earned his Bachelor’s Degree at UAlbany in 2014 and his Master’s in 2015, formerly was the head student manager of the Great Danes.  He served as a manager from 2011-15, being part of three America East Tournament title teams.

Before returning to UAlbany, Conyers was the assistant women’s basketball coach at Queens College in New York City for two seasons.  He helped the Knights to a combined 48-14 record and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the Division II Elite Eight in 2017.

During his time at Queens College, he also was the intramural director & sports information assistant at the CUNY Athletic Conference.  He also was a NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar Participant in January 2017.

At UAlbany, he was a teaching assistant for from 2014-15 and worked the Will Brown Basketball Camp.

Conyers replaces DJ Evans, who held the role of video coordinator in the 2016-17 season.
