I have heard that there has been some staff movement on the staff at UC Irvine. Director of Basketball Administration Michael Wilder has been promoted to assistant coach replacing Ali Ton who departed for Fordham back in June. Wilder had been in an administrative role at UCI the past two seasons. He wrapped up his playing career for the Anteaters in 2013, and played professionally overseas for one season after that. I have also heard that Director of Basketball Operations Ryan Schlaich has departed the staff, and has entered private business. He had been on Russell Turner’s staff for the the past three years. The former manager at Cal had also been an assistant at Cal State San Marcos. It sounds like Schlaich will be replaced as the DBO by former DII Simon Fraser head coach James Blake. Blake resigned back in 2015 after five seasons as the head coach at SFU. He has also been an assistant at Cal State Northridge and Cal State Stanislaus.
