UConn assistant to miss time with medical issue

The University of Connecticut announced today that assistant men’s basketball coach Kenya Hunter will be out indefinitely due to an undisclosed illness. Current UConn Director of Player Development Taliek Brown has been elevated to an on court coaching role in the interim.

Hunter joined Dan Hurley’s staff in April 2018 after a five year stint as an assistant at Nebraska. He has also worked at Georgetown, Xavier and Duquesne, and North Carolina State.

Brown was the captain of the Huskies 2004 National Championship team. After his career at UConn, he spent ten seasons playing professionally both in the U.S. and abroad.
