UConn’s Calhoun faces 2011-12 suspension

UConn head coach Jim Calhoun has been suspended for the first three Big East games of the 2011-12 season. The NCAA Committee on Infractions found the school violated rules on phone calls, texts and improper benefits to a recruit. UConn will also go from 13 to 12 scholarships for the next three years. The program will also be limited to five official paid recruiting visits for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons. Associate head coach George Blaney is expected to coach the team in his absence next season.
