Here are some of the names that I’ve been hearing to replace Jimmy Collins at Illinois-Chicago:

Howard Moore – Assistant Coach Wisconsin. A Chicago native. Has spent the past 10 seasons recruiting Chicago while at Wisconsin, Bradley, Ball Sate, and Loyola (Chicago).

Ernie Kent – Former Head Coach Oregon. A native of Rockford, Illinois.

Jerrance Howard – Assistant Coach Illinois. From Peoria, Il. Played at Illinois.

Tracy Webster – Interim Head Coach at DePaul last season. Has worked as an assistant at Kentucky, Illinois, Purdue, Ball State.

Vince Taylor – Assistant Coach Minnesota. Played at Duke. Has been an assistant at Pitt and Louisville.

It’s still early in this process, but expect AD Jim Schmidt to move quickly here.
