The search to replace Greg Herenda at UMass Lowell is underway – but very unclear at this point which way it is headed. There are a ton of names being thrown around – I’ve heard Al Skinner (former Boston College head coach), Pat Duquette (Northeastern associate head coach), Jim O’Brien (Emerson College head coach – former BC + Ohio State HC), Jeff Rafferty (associate head coach Delaware – former assistant at UMass Lowell), Jay Young (associate head coach Stony Brook), and Keith Dickson (head coach St. Anselm). I have also heard that UML is still debating whether or not the will hire Parker Executive search to help here, and I’m being told that there is a lot of pressure on this hiring since they are headed to the America East next season. If they do in fact hire PES, look for guys like Williams College head coach Mike Maker’s name to surface – he is already in Parker’s stable. I will keep you updated as I hear more…
