New UNC-Wilmington head coach Buzz Peterson is bringing two of his assistants from Appalachian State with him. Jamie Kachmarik and Matt McMahon have both been hired as assistants at UNCW. Jason Capel who was also on Peterson’s staff last year got the head job at Appalachian State, so Peterson will be looking to fill his spot. I’ve heard that Brooks Lee (the interim head coach at UNCW) has been offered an operations position with Peterson, but is not sure if he will take it.
