Upper Iowa names head coach

The Upper Iowa Athletics Department will hold a press conference on Tuesday, July 30, to introduce Brooks McKowen as Upper Iowa’s eighteenth head men’s basketball coach in the program’s 98-year history. McKowen, a Fairbank, Iowa native and graduate of Wapsie Valley Community Schools and the University of Northern Iowa, comes to Upper Iowa after spending the last two years at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minn.

The press conference will be held in the ballroom on the second floor of the Upper Iowa Student Center in Fayette at 10:30 a.m. Members of the media, university and community are all welcome at the press conference. Only members of the media will be allowed to ask questions during the press conference. Refreshments will be served following the press conference and attendees are encouraged to meet Coach McKowen and welcome him to Upper Iowa.

For those unable to attend, the press conference will be available online via a webcast. A full release and bio will be available Tuesday afternoon following the press conference.
