In yesterday’s blog, I mentioned the search at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (http://hoopdirt.com/blog/61918b8a/daily-dirt-8-22-14/…). The candidates that I listed were: Rick McCormick (former head coach Union College, former DI assistant, current owner of Southwest Hoops Basketball), Bill Foy (former head coach Richland College, former assistant at North Texas), and Kyle Blankenship (head coach LSU-Shreveport). Word on the street is that McCormick was offered the job, but has turned it down. I have now heard that a fourth candidate has emerged, and appears to be the new leader. It sounds like UMKC assistant Jason Sautter could be the choice here. The former Western Texas College head coach has been on the UMKC staff since last spring. He compiled a 55-30 record during his stint at WTC, and has also served as an assistant at Seward County CC and Howard College. I have heard that the announcement could be made on Monday.
