University of Texas Rio Grande Valley head coach Lew Hill has passed away. He was 56. This was first reported by Stadium’s Jeff Goodman earlier today.
Hill had been the head coach at UTRGV since 2016. The New York native also spent time as an assistant at Oklahoma, UNLV, Texas A&M, East Carolina, SEMO, and Alabama State.
Goodman also reported that Hill also recently battled COVID-19 and had planned to resign at the end of this season partially due to “other previous medical issues.”
