I can confirm that the Jerry Stackhouse to Vanderbilt rumors are very, very real. While no deal has been struck yet, both sides are getting closer as we speak.
Stackhouse, the 3rd overall pick in the 1995 NBA draft is currently an assistant with the Memphis Grizzlies. He played in the league for eight teams during his 18-year career. The two-time All-Star scored over 16,000 points in the NBA.
From 2016-18, he coached the Toronto Raptors G-League team (Raptors 905), being named Coach of the Year in 2017. The connection here….New Vandy AD Malcolm Turner was recently hired away from the G-League where he served as the president.
