VCU will hire Florida assistant Shanka Smart as their next head basketball coach. The official announcement is expected later today. Smart will be the second straight Florida assistant to get the job – he replaces former Gators assistant Anthony Grant who recently took the job at Alabama. Smart is a 1999 graduate of Kenyon college and has served stints as an assistant at Dayton, Arkon, and Clemson.
