Vermont adds Estes as Director of Basketball Operations

Cioffi Men’s Basketball Head Coach John Becker announced that Braeden Estes has joined his staff as director of basketball operations.

“I’m really excited to add Braeden to our staff,” Becker said. “He has experience in this league as a manager for Bill Herrion at New Hampshire, and a lot of overall experience for this position, so he’s going to be a huge addition to our staff. And with the new rules, we’ll be able to take advantage of the experience he has on the recruiting trail. Working for great coaches like Herrion and David McLaughlin at Dartmouth, he’s going to be really, really prepared.”

Estes joins the Catamounts after three seasons on the coaching staff at Dartmouth. He served his first two seasons as director of operations before earning a promotion to assistant coach ahead of the 2023-24 season.

His responsibilities as assistant coach for the Big Green included recruiting, player development, and scouting. As one of the youngest assistant coaches in Division I Men’s Basketball, Estes crafted and implemented Dartmouth’s rebounding strategy – the Big Green ranked 19th nationally in defensive rebounding percentage. Estes was instrumental in the development of All-Ivy selections Dame Adelekun, Brendan Barry, and Aaryn Rai. As director of operations, he coordinated team travel, oversaw student managers, and worked with video operations.

Prior to Dartmouth, Estes was a graduate assistant at South Florida — where he earned his master’s in physical education — from 2019 to 2021. Estes briefly remained on staff as director of basketball operations before joining the Big Green.

Estes was a 2019 graduate from the University of New Hampshire, where he earned a degree in business administration with a minor in coaching. He was a four-year student manager for the Wildcats.

A native of Lebanon, New Hampshire, Estes was a two-year varsity player at Lebanon High School, serving as captain as a senior.
