I can confirm that the University of Vermont has hired St. Marks head coach Greg Snyder as the new Director of Basketball Operations. Snyder just wrapped up his second season as the head coach at St. Marks. He has also been an assistant at Colgate, Hamilton, and SUNY Potsdam. It also sounds like Ryan Schneider has been elevated from DBO to assistant coach at UVM replacing Matt O’Brien (who took an assistant spot on Bob Walsh’s new staff at Maine). Last season was Schneider’s first at UVM. He played there under Tom Brennan and Mike Lonergan before finishing his career at Marist in 2009.
On a side note, for all of you guys out there looking to recruit the St. Mark’s kids, Brian Burbank has been named as Snyder’s replacement. Burbank is a St. Mark’s alum who spent last season on Snyder’s staff.
